Climate Investor One's Red Sea Power Windfarm project, along with its community development programme, has significantly improved the lives of residents in the surrounding area. Musa, a camel farmer from Lake Assal, kindly shared his story to highlight the positive impact the project has had on his family's well-being. As a father of seven children, Musa initially experienced this impact through the regular trucked water deliveries, which greatly improved his family's health, as he mentioned, 'they are no longer thirsty.'

Following the successful implementation of the desalination plant, Musa secured a position as one of the security guards responsible for the water tanks and solar systems. The additional income from this role, in addition to his income from camel farming, has enabled him to send his children to school. Notable, one of his children now attends university in Djibouti City. Moreover, the increased water supply resulting from the desalination plant has encouraged Musa and his family to start a small garden, enhancing their access to food. Instead of receiving trucked water deliveries on a weekly basis, Musa now is now able to fill his tanks daily, further improving their quality of life.
