In Tra Vinh Province Vietnam, the value of the TWPC Wind Project extends beyond the delivery of 48 MW of clean power to the national grid. The wind project is also impacting positively on community members.
One such example can be found in the playground of the Lương Thế Vinh Primary School.
Mr. Nguyen, a Headmaster at the school for the last 10-years, described the infrastructural challenges. He stated, "There have been many difficulties with the school facilities during the years and thanks to the TWPC Wind Project, the school playground now has a new shading structure, which provides the students with much-needed protection during incremental weather.
The Headmaster continued, expressing his gratitude, "We are grateful for all the support from the TWPC Wind Project over the years to help the school provide a better environment for the students.“
The impact of this improvement has been felt immediately by the students. A fourth-grade student, described the change, "I sincerely thank you for sponsoring the shading for my school. There was no shading before; it was very difficult for us to gather with friends in break time if it was raining."
Now with the new shade in place, her short but appropriate answer of, "I feel very happy," when asked for feedback about the programme encapsulates the real-life impact the wind farm project is having on the ground and in the community.
All of CI1’s projects make a commitment to nurturing the surrounding community, enhancing lives, and generating positive changes at a grassroots level, making the power of green energy tangible both at a national and personal level.
